We get a lot of questions about how the POWERCELL outputs work on our ISIS Intelligent Multiplex System. Here are answers to the two most common questions.
First, a lot of customers ask if we do anything to modify the voltage on the outputs on the POWERCELL when they are on. The answer is that we do nothing here. The POWERCELL is going to put out whatever voltage it gets from the battery. If the battery is low, the POWERCELL is going to output the same low voltage. If the alternator is charging, the POWERCELL is going to output the same voltage as the battery is seeing.
The second question that we get from customers is why there is voltage on the POWERCELL output pins when the output is off. This voltage is part of our diagnostics on the POWERCELL. When you wire your car with ISIS, we give you powerful diagnostic capabilities that you can't get from a traditional wiring harness. For our output detection circuit, there is a small amount of current that leaks out of the POWERCELL output. This is less than 100 micro-amps. If you have everything connected properly, this leakage current flows through the POWERCELL fuse, through he output connector, through the wire, through the load (light, fan, ECU, etc.) to ground. If there is a break anywhere in this chain, this leakage current flows back into the LED on the POWERCELL output, causing it to glow dimly. This is your indicator to check the fuse, look for a break in your harness, check your ground or check for a problem in your load like a burned out light bulb.
If you were to measure the open circuit voltage on a POWERCELL output with a multimeter, you would measure about 2.8-volts. This is absolutely normal. The video below will give you some more details on the diagnostics built into the ISIS Intelligent Multiplex System.

New GTM On the Road
David Charette from Advanced Vehicle Concepts just sent us pictures of GTM. He took it on its maiden voyage this weekend.
Dave wired this GTM with our standard 3-Cell Kit plus inLINK and inDASH. His kit came pre-configured with our GTM configuration which is designed for this car. All of the harnessing required to wire the accessories is included in the kit.
It is a great looking car. Great Job Dave!

Wiring the Littlefield Camaro...
Hey Guys,
We wanted to put up a few more pictures from the 1969 Camaro that Littlefield Customs wired with ISIS Power. Bob took some great shots through the process to show how simple and clean your electrical system can be when you replace the stock wiring harness with ISIS.
Here is the mounting for the rear POWERCELL, next to the battery.
Here is Bob looming the CAN cable. You can see the MASTERCELL mounted above the steering column.

Another shot of the rear POWERCELL with the harnesses installed and loomed.
If you look really carefully, you will see the front POWERCELL just forward of the left-inner fender. This really well hidden and keeps the engine bay really clean.
Great Job to Bob and his crew.

Littlefield Camaro Follow Up...
Hey Folks,
We got a call from Bob Littlefield today. He is the guy that build that great looking '69 Camaro in our last blog post. Not only is that a great looking car but it tore up the Autocross track this weekend.
The debuted the car at the Goodguys show this weekend in Nashville. They took the car out for the first time on the Autocross track and ran behind the top performing contender by 0.6 seconds. That is really impressive considering that this was the first time that the car was out on the track. They haven't dialed in the suspension yet and the engine needs a little tuning. Even more impressive is the fact that this car looks great and performs like a champion.
Here are some videos from the weekend.

Chop Cut Rebuild Nominated for an Emmy
We just got word from Dan Woods and team at Chop Cut Rebuild that the show was nominated for an Emmy. This is a great honor for them. ISIS Power is proud to have been a part of the season that has received this accolade.
Congratulations on the nomination guys!!!!!!
Here is the press release from WAS Productions:
Long running SPEED series earns network its first “Lifestyle” Emmy Nomination
Producers of the hit SPEED Channel series Chop Cut Rebuild …With Dan Woods have garnered the automotive specialty broadcaster its first Daytime Emmy nomination. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recently announced its Daytime Emmy nominees for the June 23rd awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, naming the long running SPEED series as a nominee for “Outstanding Lifestyle Series”.
Chop Cut Rebuild blends documentary style into the “how-to” genre by following the restoration of two distinctively iconic vehicles in a season-long 13 episode process. Now in its eighth season on SPEED, the series has featured top professionals in the restoration trade who reveal the tricks, skills, and challenges of a complete show-quality vehicle restoration.
Chop Cut Rebuild premiered on SPEED in 2004. The series creator, host, and Executive Producer is Dan Woods, who is also known for his long standing acting role in the successful Degrassi franchises as teacher/principal Raditch. Woods believes the series has enjoyed its longevity due to its focus on process – rather than personality. “Chop Cut Rebuild is about the real effort needed to restore iconic symbols of American engineering. It isn’t about throwing wrenches, or dysfunctional people”, says Woods.
Edward Peghin, has been the series Co-Executive Producer and Director for the past three seasons. Edward credits much of the series success to the right mix of on-camera talent and an enthusiastic production team. “Finding the right people who understand cars and blending them with people who understand television has been the key.” Peghin adds, “Everyone understands their roles, their strengths, and they love what they do”, states the veteran producer.
Chop Cut Rebuild has featured the restoration of every type of popular vehicle from classic Camaro, Charger, and Mustang muscle cars, to rare and unique vehicles like the Delorian pre-curser Bricklin SV1 from the early 1970’s. The ninth season of Chop Cut Rebuild is currently in production and will premier in fall 2012.
Congratulations on the nomination guys!!!!!!
